RITU GUPTA

(GDC 68593)

Orthodontist

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO BE AN ORTHODONTIST?

I have always been interested in Orthodontics and Orthodontic problems still fascinate me even after 25 years. I enjoy the challenge of solving problems and crafting beautiful smiles. I love seeing their problem unravel at each visit and sharing in my patients' excitement.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE WAY YOU WORK?

I have a modern practice but I subscribe to old-fashioned values of mutual trust and respect. I would like my patients to feel relaxed with me and my team. I strive to deliver the best I can with an honest, sensible approach to treatment, that I hope is appreciated and works predictably in my hands.

WHAT DO YOU MOST ENJOY ABOUT YOUR JOB?

I love the feeling of being helpful and making a difference to others. Working in my practice for 20 years I am grateful for the pleasure of building lasting relationships with my patients and following up my work the longer term.

BACKGROUND

I was born in India and moved to the UK age 9. I come from a medical family. I qualified as a dentist in 1992 from Guy's Hospital, London and trained in several branches of dentistry before specialising in Orthodontics. I trained at King's Dental Institute, London and The Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England since 2002. I started my practice in 2004 and also worked at St Richards hospital until 2017.

PERSONAL

My husband is also a dentist and was born in Portsmouth. We have been living in Chichester since 2006 and we have 2 teenage daughters at secondary school. I love my work and find it easy to discuss crooked teeth all day! I allow myself days out to attend professional courses, which open my mind to new ways of working. I enjoy books that help me think and live better. I like the thought of being an artist & have a big collection of houseplants! I also love cooking, traveling, and theatre. I enjoy running on a Sunday and Yoga to keep the old joints working!
